Fifty-four Master Curlers wrapped up a successful year with a banquet and Murder Mystery Saturday April 16th at the Chatsworth Legion.
It was a full house with Captan Morgan and cast greeting the guests, regaled in suitable attire.
The evening began with a roast beef dinner served by The Chatsworth Legion Auxiliary and a Murder Mystery "Murder on Emerald Isle" produced by Marg Rapp. Who killed Tom Collins? It was difficult to tell but in the end several people did figure it out.
Many thanks to the Chatsworth Legion for the fine dinner and to the cast for their hours of practice and obvious talent: Alice Thompson (Shirley Temple), Bill Metzger (Jack Daniels), Diana Metzger (Margarita Ville), Barb McCleave (Ginger Ale), Tom Fidler (Harvey Wall-Banger), Jean McKay (Sloe Comfort), Ken Lagerquist (Captain Morgan), Bob Schallhorn (Russian Prince), and Marg Rapp (Bloody Mary), filling in for Jean Walker.
Thanks also to the Masters Curling Committee for all their work through the season. Ken & Lorna Lagerquist, Debbie & Mike Fortney, and Jim & Barb McCleave.
Ken & Lorna are retiring from organizing the Master Curlers this year. They are going to be missed as they have done a superlative job. But they are looking for new challenges and I know anything they take on will have a different slant when they leave. We wish them the best and thank them for their tireless work and enthusiasm.
So now the Masters are looking for new volunteers to step forward and take their turn in organizing for a year or two. Ken is taking resumes so give him a call (519-794-0484). Some of the many perks that go with the job are:
-you get a key to WCC.
-(more perks added later)
