Home Coming 2011
Williamsford & Area Community Homecoming 2011 was held July 29th and 30th at the New Williamsford Community Centre. It was a big undertaking and Community effort. Thanks to Frank and Helen Beirnes who organized the week-end.
Two hundred and fifty three adults passed the gate on Saturday which was manned by "The Community Club" headed by Helen Kuglin. There was a lot of activities including musical entertainment, a dunking machine, face painting, Oops the clown, and old movies in the afternoon. "The Evening Curlers" headed by Ian and Delmer Eriksen organized the food tent. "The Community Centre Board" headed by Ian Eriksen and Moe Batterman looked after the bars at the beer tent and at the dance.
Saturday night Helen and Frank Beirnes spearheaded the dance featuring the band "Stir It Up". One hundred and seventy eight enjoyed new & old country and rock & roll.
More than 200 enjoyed a delicious pancake brunch hosted by the "Master Curlers" and headed by Carol Elliot.
Tickets were sold on the tool shed donated by Terry McComb. Draw to be made at the Harvest Dance October 1st.
Calendars for 2012 featuring Williamsford teams and assorted pictures and bits of history were sold. Celeste Eickholdt, Helen Beirnes, Helen Kuglin and Lori Parkinson did a great job on the calendars. They are still available. Phone Celeste to reserve yours. (519-794-4608)
