March 11th and 12th The Histerical Society sponsored The Hard Rock Challenge Bonspiel. After 2 days of incredible techniques and strategies, The 316310's had to concede to the Hurry Hards. It was a hard fought fight almost to the end when The 316310's threw in the towel, and The Hurry Hards took the trophy. Everything wound up Saturday night with The Loony-Toony evening of fun and foolery. Skilled participants were frustrated as they tried to putt a golf ball closest to the rubber chicken. The eventual winners were: Heather Beirnes winning a gift certificate donated by the Community Club: Jack Wilkes winning the gift basket donated by Grass Roots in Desboro: and Donna Visentin picked up a gift basket donated by The Master Curlers Group. Several tables of euchre were also enjoyed. Due to histerical society rules we are unable to thank any members due to the rule that members "shall not attend meetings or their membership could be revoked." Therefore we cannot tell you that Ralph Clark, Bob MacKenzie, Bob Schallhorn, Ken Lagerquist, Earl Barry and Jim McCleave deserve thanks for their efforts in making the Annual Hardrock Challenge and Loonie-Toonie Party another success. We cannot thank Wayne Duquette for supplying his sound system or Brenda Clark, Audrey MacKenzie and Helen Kuglin for helping out with the lunch, or Lorna Lagerquist and Debbie Fortney for recruiting new members. We really would like to thank these members but unfortunately due to Society rules, we cannot. The costumes get better each year and it was a difficult choice but The Rock Docks pulled out all the stops to get the most votes to win best costumes. Thanks to all that participated or came out and supported The Society. Your generosity added $576.00 more to The Building Fund. Thanks also to The Community Club, Grass Roots & The Master Curlers for the prizes donated.
